Question About The Drake Drops - Page 2 - Guild Wars Forums

True, but it's your first chance to get somewhat consistent rare/purple drops and few people want to pass that up. Others that just love to amass wealth usually get stuck in Kryta because there's not a drake run they can pass up. That yellow drop is quite a rush!

It is very irritating for those focussed on the mission though because it is rather hard to complete with henchmen. Henchmen have the annoying tendancy to bathe in the poisonous swamp.....among other things.

As far as rares go, I'm pretty irritated that they all seem to be for the warrior class. I've gotten 5 rare drops: 1 axe, 2 hammers, 1 sword, 1 shield. I wonder if there is such a thing as a rare focus item?

if it makes you feel any better, im a warrior and all ive gotten are gold staves and rods.

Every single mob that is killed drops an item or gold, Period. If you kill a mob and nothing seems to drop it is only because it was an item reserved for a henchman. You can prove this by going either with all human players and you will see every mob drop something, or go by yourself and you will get something from every mob. I dont believe there is any difference in the quality of drops with henchies vs humans, but, you will never be able to tell because you will never know what the henchie items were.

Well if it makes you feel any better, I'm a pure casting necro and all I've gotten is gold axes and swords!

Personally I find that I am lucky if I get one purple item and I solo the whole thing with my 20 ranger/necro and my pet.

I think this game is too random.. Sometimes I get more rare drops with a party of humans than when I farm alone.. Sometimes I get more when I farm alone.. Wish it would be more consistent either way
